Gastronomy trip, check. As a part of our University program we made a food trip to Slavček tourism farm in the village of Dornberk, Slovenia. The amazing wife of the owner Franc Vodopivec is an amazing cook who prepared us some traditional delicious dishes from this area. We were first served with Viktorija sparkling wine (dry wine, 12% of alcohol, about 17€ per bottle) and "fritaja"- sort of a quiche with herbs that grow in their garden.
Next on it was white polenta with prosciutto which was marinated in red wine. The combination of two creata an explosion of tastes in the mouth as polenta is unsalted and prosciutto gets too salty when cooked. After that we were served home made pasta with venison and delicious marinara sauce. And at the end we had a quick degustation of 4 differently matured cheese, dipped in home made fig marmelade.
The cost of the whole meal with 2 desserts that I didn't take photos of, was 15€ and a full, happy belly. Highly reccomended!
