I am in the girl's room and I am supposed to be making beds. Instead I am thinking about the food I ate today. It was not my best day. Don't get me wrong the food was all great but I could have done better. I am wondering if I feel this way because I am so full. Like maybe if I felt hungry I would feel like I did better. What kind of screwed up thinking is that? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we grow up believing thats carbs fill us up and veggies don't....which is just crazy. I think I better fo track my food from today and maybe make the girls beds.

Do you track what you eat?

I have tracked my food off and on for the last 30+ years, but over the last year or so, I got lazy and told myself I didn’t need to. Well, that wasn’t such a good idea!

Part of the program I have been using since mid May has this great little journal, as well as an electronic version for the techies out there. I have noticed a real change in my habits, mindset and especially my results. Between writing everything down and weighing daily, I am learning what works for me.

Day 2 LIIFT4: Back & Biceps. An old saying in business is “If it’s not measured, its not managed.” The same is true for fitness. First, i must say that I’m grateful it wasn’t leg day. My quads are still screaming from Saturday! I truly feel like I’m starting my two year journey all over again. Still, I’m also grateful that I’ve learned soooo much that I know how to get back to where I was 7 weeks ago. TRACKING is a huge piece of it. Being able to visualize your progress is UNDERRATED. You have to constantly challenge yourself to achieve results, but there’s a mental aspect that is critical to building mental strength (aka confidence). No matter where you are in your journey - the beginning, the middle or a new road along the way - TRACK your progress along the way. Heck, frame it as a reminder that you can do hard things.
