Can I tell you a secret?!?! The part of my day that I love the most is when I wake each of these babies up in the morning. One by one, I pick them up, carry them to the bathroom and cradle them like I did when they were infants. I look into their changing faces and try to remember: remember when they were teeny, tiny babies, before they were over 3ft and more than half my height. Remember when I woke up throughout the night to provide them with the only nourishment they knew, before they became picky eaters. Remember the first time they each called me mommy, before the days that I run and hide from them calling for mommy 🤣. I remember the hard work I put in losing weight to increase my odds to conceive, because they are a blessing because many of my PCOS Cysters are fighting daily for this blessing and I try and hold back the tears.
But, after these moments of reflection, I pray. I pray for God to protect them for that day. For God to help them to grow in character, to be lead by conviction and not the crowds. I pray that God uses them, even now to be great people for His kingdom. Then I tell them who they are in God and how they've made our family better.
Best part of my day! The calm before the storm, because once those feet hit the floor... IT.IS.ON.
