Why a WELL-ROUNDED approach to fitness is the 🔑 to building your best body.

Many people are motivated to train because they want to improve the way they look. There’s nothing inherently wrong with this and I would be a hypocrite if I told you not to train for aesthetics.
.
That said - how you go about it matters.
.
When aesthetics is the be all end all, aggressive ‘body builder’ style workouts are often favored and health becomes an after thought.
.
The long term result is often pain, injury and a terrible state of health ‘internally’ ... you can look good on the outside and be a train wreck on the inside ... it’s only a matter of time before it catches up with you.
.
But here’s the thing - you DO NOT have to sacrifice your health to look good.
.
Training for aesthetics and training for health DO NOT have to be mutually exclusive - they can co exist.
.
That’s right, you can have both!
.
The key to having both is to take a well-rounded approach to training. To blend the key components. In my eyes, there are 3:
.
1️⃣ Weight training to get strong and build muscle - based around the fundamental movement patterns, not muscles: squat, hinge, push, pull, loaded carries.
.
2️⃣ Mobility training to build healthy, resilient joints that move and function well - allowing you to train effectively, without pain, for the long haul.
.
3️⃣ Aerobic training to build a strong and efficient cardiovascular system. Aside from the fact that aerobic capacity is the most important predictor of longevity & all-cause mortality, a strong aerobic base is necessity for successful training also. It enables you to train frequently, recover quickly, and feel good in your body - full of energy and vitality.
.
This is my philosophy.
.
This is the approach to training I want to encourage. To build a body that’s strong, functional and most importantly - HEALTHY. Aesthetics is just a sweet side effect 😉
