for all of you that don’t know already braydon and i were in an accident on monday driving home (to layton) from the farmington dld. it was around 5:30 ish when the truck in front of us started to slow down. like any other day with traffic starting to form, we slowed the same as they did. i was watching the lady in a suburban pick her nose out the window next to me. and all the sudden braydon grabs my leg, and says “oh shit”. he tried to serve into the carpool lane to avoid hitting the truck that completely stopped in the middle of i15, but he didn’t because there was another car there. at this time we about going 20-25 mph, and thank god at that. we hit a lifted red dodge 1500 with a wheel chair lift on the back. our car started to go under the bed of the truck. the scratches on the hood were from the bottom of her truck, and they go about half way up. braydon said he blacked out for a couple seconds after the bumper hit the lift, but i remember watching us go under it. i went and got looked at yesterday for my shoulder and i have a bruised collarbone. if we were going any faster i bet our car would be in a lot worse shape, maybe even completely under her lifted truck. and if that were to happen, things would be a lot worse than just a bruised collarbone and a few other visible bruises. i just want to say that you should always pay attention while you’re driving, because even if you are like braydon, things like this could still happen. also always watch for stupid drivers. it was just our lane that was breaking. the cars on both sides of us were driving normal. i heard about people just slamming on their breaks to get hit for insurance money. in this case it wasn’t the trucks fault, but we’ll never know why the car in front of her did just that when the rest of the freeway was just fine.
