Meet Layla ❤️❤️Layla is a four-year-old who was surrendered by her owner to a vet to be euthanized when they no longer wanted her. Luckily, this vet was connected to Team Cat Rescue, and she was soon on her way to finding her new forever family.
Layla is scared at first, but you can quickly gain her trust with bum scratches and pets. As one foster has told us, she is a "voice-activated purring machine," who needs only to hear your voice to start revving her engine. And she likes to chat about everything! She will follow you around and insist that you keep doors open so that she can find you. She loves to guard your bed at night and will curl up beside you. Sadly,
Layla has responded poorly to her abandonment, and can sometimes lash out in fear. She is currently on anti-anxiety medication, and we suspect she may have been abused. For now, Layla scampers away with loud noises or sudden movements, but she always returns for more love. She is also fussy about being picked up, but prefers that you sit on her level and talk to her in a soothing voice. She also loves to play with foam balls and chase the laser, and she will purr, roll, and head-butt to get dry treats!
Layla needs a quiet and patient home without other cats or children, as she wants all of your attention for herself. She will require some patient love in order to make her blossom once again. We also recommend she remain on anxiety mediation until she is settled. If you are looking for a sweet, loyal little companion, who will greet you at the door, follow you around everywhere, and chat with you about your day, then this is the girl for you!
