The west section of East Bayfront area in downtown Toronto. Once a mix of industrial and low rise retail right on the waterfront, this prime piece of Toronto's waterfront just east of Yonge St is about to go #supertall. A mix of condo and office towers. The tall buildings on the left are set to start soon and the tallest at 96 storeys.
Living nearby to this area, It is good to see this once under used area of prime downtown building up. But the major thing I worry about is the increase in congestion without funding yet for thr LRT transit line planned for this area.
#flashbackfriday to the first LEED Gold certified heritage building in Canada, Artscape Wychwood Barns. Sustainable design features include a large cistern to collect roof water for irrigation and use in washrooms, extensive daylighting and natural ventilation, as well as a ground source heat pump HVAC system.
