David Pick of B/R reports that Baskonia forward Tornike Shengelia is finalizing a three day workout with the Clippers. He was the 54th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Sixers but was traded to the Nets on the same night.
Shengelia played a total of 45 games for the Nets and Bulls from 2012-2014 and averaged 1.3 points and 0.9 rebounds per game. He has recently spent the past three years playing for Baskonia of Liga ACB, the top basketball league in Spain, and in 23 games this past season he averaged 11.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 51.4% from the field and 47.6% from 3PT range.
He can play both forward positions which is a plus considering how Doc has loved going small with the second unit these past few years and is still only 25 years old, so if the Clippers decide to sign him at the minimum (2 years, $3.0M with a player option on year two) not exactly a bad risk imo.
