Kirkjufell --- icelandic for Church Mountain. When they gave it that name they probably didn't know what a pilgrimage destination this would become for all landscape photographers.
The nights in June are a blessing and a curse at the same time. It sounds like the best thing ever at first to have whole nights of beautiful golden hour and blue hour light where it never gets completely dark. However, this introduces the problem that you don't know when it's best to change locations. Your constantly asking yourself "Will the light get better here? Is it safe to sit in the car for maybe an hour? What if the sky explodes and I'm in the middle of nowhere? Will I miss the best part? Is the weather as good where I'm going". These horrrible decisions you have to make can become a bit stressful but it's so rewarding when it works out.
