Dry Shampoo can be a girls best friend between washes... unless it comes loaded with hormone disrupting ingredients (spoiler alert: mostly all of the ones from a store do, I’m sad to say 😔). Girl. (And Guys... no judging) It’s so easy.
This dry shampoo made with essential oils is a great way to keep your hair looking, smelling, and feeling great for those days between washes.
1️⃣First, get yourself an empty spice jar (I got mine + the nifty pretty label from my FAVORITE oily DIY supply shop - @shareoils ! I’m obsessed with her shop. It’s a problem.)... or upcycle if you’re savvy.
2️⃣second, grab some arrowroot powder and cocoa powder from the store. Or if you already have them, pat yourself on the back.
3️⃣third, decide which oils you want to add to your dry shampoo. I chose lavender, rosemary, and peppermint for their healthy hair supporting properties. You could also use oils like: melaleuca, ylang ylang, jasmine, clary sage, lime, sandalwood... mix and match to your hearts desire.
4️⃣fourth, get out the food processor (or be brave and mix it by hand.... but I’m not cleaning your kitchen. Just saying.). Assemble.
Then add:
For light hair:
¼ cup arrowroot powder
2 drops Lavender oil
2 drops Rosemary oil
2 drops Peppermint oil

For dark hair:
2 tablespoons arrowroot powder
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 drops Lavender oil
2 drops Rosemary oil
2 drops Peppermint oil
•Put arrowroot powder, cocoa powder (if using), and essential oils into food processor
•Pulse until well combined
•Store in glass jar
•To use, apply powder with old make-up brush to roots and oily parts of hair
💥pro tip: if you’re using the dark hair version, add the oils to the arrowroot powder first.
💥pro tip two: sift before adding to the jar with a fine mesh sieve to remove any clumps .

Why did it take me 10 hours to post my workout today? Because it's been a non-stop day and it's not even over!

Notice what I didn't skip though? That's right, my workout. My source of energy. My stress relief. My me time.

When you change your mindset about workouts your whole attitude to them changes. Want to not have to.

PS: I lasted for 23 minutes with Shaun T today so I'm gaining the confidence to rock his next program in January.

My sweet sheep tonight at the Preschool Concert. The upside down and backwards letters of the ABCs of Christmas made it even more cute!

Listened to an awesome leader from my team today talk about tracking for our businesses. I couldn't say 🙌YES🙌 enough times while listening!

Business, life, kids....I couldn't be a fully functioning adult without my checklists (and planner). Just something about ✅CHECK MARKS ✅ that are so satisfying.

Christmas tree waffles, candy cane and marshmallow hot cocoa mugs, and their advent gift of a hot cocoa play set (it's the CUTEST!). An eventful Friday morning to start an eventful weekend.

So much going on that I forgot to pop on here because I've got 2 things.

1 - Only 3 spots left for my FIT-mas Challenge staring next Monday. 👌 Did I mention it's FREE and you might every win something for yourself! (That's if no spots were claimed from my stories this morning... gotta check them now). 2 - Do I wear my onesie PJs on the Polar Express this weekend and thoroughly embarrass my children? (Who am I kidding, they'd love it 😂...I mean thoroughly embarrass my husband). Ok, off to crank out some work while the kids nap....I might only get another 20 minutes!

Just checked my measurements today from my last 3 WEEK program.  Besides fitting into some new jeans (THANK YOU for the love on that post by the way 😘) I lost 3.5 inches!  All my weight loss was from the 3 Day Plant-based cleanse I started the month off with, but I easily maintained that through Thanksgiving.

The last photo here is me last week upon finishing.  It’s not TOO different from this time last year, but that belly is shrinking 😮 and my strength gains are huge (I’ll have to dig for my paperwork on the weights I was using this time last year vs now...tracking is important). The first picture is actually when I started this journey 3 years ago.  Can you BELIEVE there is barely a 10lb difference in these pictures?!? That was after dropping the first 10lb of baby weight right after starting a workout routine.  My lowest weight is in the middle actually, last year.

The difference between these all? MUSCLE!  My arms, yes, but my legs (and booty 🙌). The past year I have focused on weight lifting and I LOVE it.  It’s all about evaluating YOUR specific goals and what you want for your body.  I would love to lose some more weight but I feel GOOD.

How much water do you drink in a day?

Before I started working out my answer most days was ZERO! Not that I was drinking tons of other things like coffee or pop, but I just rarely drank anything.

When I started working out I challenged myself to a 30oz cup (that I took home from the hospital after my daughter was born) that I'd drink before, during, and after my workout time. It went well and I started drinking more all the time and adding it at meal times too.

Fast forward to the country fair this year when we got a 60oz jug of fresh squeezed lemonade (because WHY NOT?!🍋). I took it on as a new challenge! 24oz with my preworkout formula AND 60oz during/after my workout...before 7am.

I am the FIRST person to go to the bathroom anywhere! So let me tell you that upping my water (I shoot for 125oz a day) has had its challenges 💧🚽, but by getting it in first thing, then just sipping on water at meals through the day has helped me reach my goal and still function in life.

I challenge YOU to find a time in your day where you can easily up your water intake or at least get 16oz in upon waking in the morning! Will you do it?
