It wasn't so much the actual waist hooping that was so hard, it was the consistency of really getting up & doing ONLY waist hooping for 15 straight minutes without stopping. Seated V bicycle crunches. I used 8 pound weights. You can use lighter or none at all and still feel your abs working.
Be sure that you tuck your tail bone under and find your balance. Suck your core in (as if a string is being pulled through Your belly button). Do this for a minute straight, take a 30 second break and repeat.
To challenge yourself do your first minute with light weights and up the weights for the second round.

What an amazing transformation from my friend Dustin!
He had the discipline and commitment to make a change and look at him now! He works a full-time job, has 3 wonderful children, an amazing wife, and helps take care of his brother. If anyone has an excuse not to workout, food prep and take care of himself he might be your guy, but he's not!
He gets up at the crack of dawn and makes it happen and makes no excuses!
He's also building his own business to make a better life for his family.

Well.. I have to admit I'm showing a little "attitude" in this picture, but that's OK, because in order to teach Zumba you have to have an attitude. I will call it my positive Zumba attitude! How else can you dance through those hard-hitting Hip-Hop and Reggaeton songs? Today I'm subbing a fun class at the Eugene YMCA at 1 PM! 💃🏻🌻

What inspires me the most are the military voices the background. On the days that I don't feel like working out I think about the kind of days that they have and I have no excuses! I just finished teaching one hour of Zumba before this 22 minute workout. What kind of exercise inspires you? Do you like hard-core Boot Camp style, dance, cycle class?

I struggle with forgiveness. I'm probably too hard on myself. Do you struggle with letting go? We may need to get clear on this one truth: guilt, shame, and self-criticism are some of the most destructive forces in your life, which is why forgiving yourself can be so powerful. Here's an excellent way to do it. Think of a specific thing that you did that you felt really bad about. Call up in your mind and feel it in your body. I was up at 5:45 am to get in 22 Minute HardCorps Resistance 1. I also did the Coldstart option which is 15 minute of warm-up.'s. I would recommend it and it's vigorous enough that if you only had 15 minutes it's a good way to start your day! Shakeology for breakfast....of course!
Recovery day is Friday when I'm in the airport all day!
