⏱Do you have trouble finding time to finish your workouts? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I run a lot of 30 minute training sessions, so clients workouts have to be condensed. I’ve been using “Myo-Reps” to get through their isolation work more efficiently.

How it works 👇🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
▪️As you fatigue a muscle, you must continuously recruit more muscle fibers to finish the set. As you get closer to failure, reps become more effective at stimulating muscle growth, because you’re fatiguing more muscle fibers. (This is the idea of “effective reps” I’ve talked about before.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
▪️The idea of Myo-Reps is basically: by taking a muscle to the fully fatigued “effective rep” point, and then performing several more reps after a brief rest, you can achieve higher fiber recruitment much earlier in the following sets.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What to do 👇🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️Chose a load you can lift to near failure at 20 reps.
✔️Rest for 3-5 deep breaths
✔️Lift the weight for 3-5 more reps
✔️Repeat this process of 3-5 reps, 3-5 breaths, for 3-5 sets. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💪🏻The short rest periods between mini-sets keep your muscles fatigued, meaning the level of muscle fiber recruitment stays high. All the reps of your 3-5 mini-sets are “effective reps”. So a similar training effect to 4-6 sets can be achieved with this method, in a fraction of the time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌Don’t use this for compound movements. For you compound movements, you need adequate rest to prevent injury, recover from aerobic fatigue, keep good form, and basically to not die.

I love this as a time saver for isolation movements (think: curls, extensions, flys, raises, etc.) after you’ve devoted adequate time and rest to your main lifts.

Even though I'm not following any plans/diets like most people in fitness industry do, I work out 3-5 times a week, eat whenever I'm hungry and feel great. So it is not always about strict rules as some might think. Just know yourself, do what you feel like doing, listen to your body and it won't tell you wrong things! Decided to switch it up alittle and train back and chest on an incline! This hits muscles at a different angle that for me are slightly weaker since I usually stick to flat bench. Save for later if you need some change in your routine! ———————————————
