Hey there! @beth3167 back to share my drawing on fabric tutorial today. Start with MONO Drawing Pencil grade H and lightly sketch the outlines of the snowman. If the pencil has too sharp of a point it will get caught in the fabric, so use a point that is a bit dull.
Swipe to see how I built up the depth of the sketch, adding some cross hatch shading with MONO Drawing Pencil grade B. Continue with grade 2B and 4B, accenting the darkest areas of the sketch and creating the plaid on the scarf.
Next comes the COLOR! Using a scrap piece of muslin, create a sample color palette. The @tombowusa Irojiten Colored Pencils are creamy and vibrant when colored onto the muslin. I used Sunset Orange (nose), Dandelion (star), Cherry Red (scarf), Parrot Green (scarf), Chestnut Brown (arms), Porcelain Blue (sky) and Lupine (ground). Again a duller point will yield a better result. Here is the sketch and the completed colored drawing of the snowman.
The final reveal is up next, so check in to see how I embellished and finished my whimsical snowman drawing. #tombow #tombowusa #tombow2017dt
