On this beautiful Monday morning we would like to introduce the newest member of the Better Future team: Noor Anila. In this short interview you can read a bit about her and her dreams for the future.
I am passionate about life; I want to make a change in both my life and the rest of the world. I was born the fourth child in my family and from an early age often felt invisible. While growing up in Lahore, Pakistan, I often had the desire to speak up. To talk and fight for my rights and dreams. It was important to me to make myself visible, even though this was not always easy because of the environment I was living in. Today I live in Zoetermeer, in the Netherlands, with my husband and two kids. They have been a tremendous support to me to identify and develop myself. -What do you want to accomplish during your time here?
I want real change and to help the society. I want to see the benefit of newcomers (refugees) who can take part in our programs, to listen to their stories and find out what helped them making steps forward. I wish to see people of the world change their perspective, not to take one side, but be able to look at this current global refugee challenge from both sides and its uniqueness in every situation.
The main project I am involved in is the Face The Future (www.better-future.com/facethefuture) program: a project that connects newcomers with employees of Dutch organisations. My role is to recruit the newcomers and accompany them while they are a part of the program. My work includes going to the Dutch corporate clients to talk and meet with them. I act as a bridge between the two worlds.
What are your dreams?
I am the first female in my family who went to the University and who started a master degree. Right now I want to complete my Ph. D master degree and can't wait to start working. I dream to discover the opportunities we get and to see what our program will accomplish. I am coming from a whole different world, and where I am right now is a very different world as well. My goal is to find a way to decrease the gap between these two. #facethefuture #betterfuture #togetherwecanmakeadifference #bfneveradullmoment #betterfutureon
