#StaffPickSunday -- Our pick today comes from KC, our Director. She says: "Patricia Briggs is one of my very favorite authors. I highly recommend all of her books. However, my favorite character is Mercedes Thompson, a shape-shifting coyote whose superpower is "chaos." Ms. Briggs introduces her readers to Mercedes and her accompanying cast of colorful characters in Moon Called, which is the first book in the Mercy Thompson series. Mercy is a fascinatingly complex character. She is a walker (Native American Indian folklore) who works for a grumpy old fae as an auto mechanic, hangs out with werewolves, distrusts vampires, and can see ghosts. She is stubborn, headstrong, independent, hardworking, thoughtful, and caring. She also has a very strong Christian faith which works in her favor during encounters with less savory characters. In Moon Called, Mercy finds herself in the middle of the local werewolf pack business, rescuing teenagers and facing a developing love triangle. These novels have excellent story lines that are filled with humor and leave the reader ready for the next one." This book is available on #tnreads!
