I took a few days off posting for an unplanned digital detox this week to spend time with family in town visiting. I knew it was inevitable that a few splurges were going to happen, while it was important to me to have fun, I also didn’t want to sacrifice all the progress I’ve made.
I wanted to share a few traveling tips below that have helped me maintain balance while traveling or family visiting with hopes that these will help you too with any upcoming trips.👇🏼
•Crank out all the workouts you can at the beginning of your trip. You’re already on a routine and it helps keep your momentum going.
Working out also helps ease jet lag.
•Always carry a refillable water.
•Eat your water too. - load up on veggies and fruits high in water to help fight off bloat and keep you hydrated.
•Speaking of bloat, I always up the cardio on trips with hikes, runs, tons of walking and less Ubering. I see more that way and don’t feel so puffy.
•Plan your meals out
-as a girl who LOVES to experience the local foods, I always look up the restaurants that we plan on eating at and get an idea of healthy meals that I can choose.
•Try and keep breakfast and lunch lcg, they’re usually the easiest to load up on veggies.
•I always order sparkling water with lime when I go out. I usually order it before I even have a drink. Since I’m paying for it I’m going to make sure I drink it. And we all know how important hydration is.
