Another dream...another bucket list ✔️✔️
12 years ago my dad and I started a tradition. At the time I was going through a big transition in my life and running was my therapy and where I found peace. So we signed up for the Big Sur Half Marathon together. For four years...we booked our race tickets and road tripped it up the California coast. These are some of the best memories with my dad. We would stop along every coastal town and try to find the one that has the best clam chowder (FYI...Splash Cafe in Pismo Beach is a winner!) or discover a remote beach (FYI...Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur is our winner!). It was great father/daughter time. Somehow life's busy schedule, my dads knees from running so many years, 'I can't make my busy schedule work', or any other 'we don't have time' excuse came in the way. The tradition stopped. BUT, this year...we brought it back! Time may not have allowed us to run it...but along with Bobby and my Dad's extraordinary wife Beth...we walked, ran, wiggled, danced and giggled our way to the finish line together. Ryan has been gone for the past couple nights, hunters widow over here 🙆🏽, so I've been making shakes for dinner and putting very little effort into them 🤣 but when I found out he was coming home tonight I was pumped to make him his FAV home cooked healthy meal to come back to --- flank steak cooked in liquid aminos, brussel sprouts baked in olive oil and aminos as well, and cut up potatoes also baked in the oven 👌🏽
Meal plan AND hubby approved = win, win in my book! And this girl is ready to eat a good dinner again --- maybe this will get him to stay home a little while longer until next hunt? Yeah, probably not 😂 || #teamriseaboveit .

Just wanted to share this with you all because I’ve been in a totally weird mood lately. I’ve been working REALLY hard on consistency both with my workouts themselves and being smarter in the kitchen. I finished my last program and officially started day one of my new one today!

This is when you’ll typically see my before and afters... but I feel like that’s such BS because when I look in the mirror and either have setbacks due to life or just feel the same I don’t end up sharing. And that’s not fair. It makes me feel worse and it sure as heck isn’t painting a clear picture for you guys either. —
So my before and after pic today is about 5 seconds apart 6am messy workout/bed hair and all lol But my message is this... Day 1 or day 30 doesn’t matter. What you FEEL on the inside is what’s important. Don’t ever compare your body to anyone else’s! Because you never know what they’re struggling to hide from the pics as well. Admittedly, I have rolls when I sit down (HELLO! We all do it’s SKIN!) And I have cellulite as well. Do I beat myself up over it? You betcha! but that doesn’t define me, so don’t let your “flaws” define you! Put that smile on and slay the day, beautiful!! 😘❤️

Soooo glad I got my workout in this morning, because it's Brooklyn's birthday party tonight & I def wouldn't want to squeeze it in after school BUTTTTT I HAVE to workout or I owe my accountability partner $5 so 🤦🏼‍♀️ no money for you today, Hanna!

That #TIUflexfriday💪 moment when you smile because your arms are on 🔥 from day 11 of #lg30x30 and your legs are shaking and you know you earned it because you worked for it 👊 On top of that, you earned that delicious M1 mocha avocado smoothie full of greens and yummy goodness to fuel your #gainztrain I can tell that this new challenge is working because I'm finding myself needing more protein and fats to stay satiated for longer periods of time. I haven't been consuming processed carbs this week and I'm feeling absolutely great because of it. Thanksgiving is not going to be the same playing field but I will choose what I fill my plate with very wisely and make sure to treat myself 🍴--especially with my mom's homemade desserts! I'm also finding time to take care of myself by sometimes snoozing for a bit longer (which I definitely did this morning) or choosing to skip a workout when need be. Unfortunately I'm also going to the doctor today because I fear I may have an ear infection and I can't risk it growing worse. It’s this handsome dude’s birthday today!!! 🎉🎂 Isn’t he just the world’s BIGGEST love pig???🐶❤️ 6 years ago (minus 6 weeks lol ) we brought him home and he was only the size of his HEAD right now haha!

🍎 APPLE PIE PROTEIN SMOOTHIE 🍎 This is my hands down favorite fall drink. Even better than pumpkin spice.. yeah, I said it!
All you need:
1 cup ice
2 large tbsp plan Greek yogurt
1/3 apple chopped
1 cup almond milk
1 tsp cinnamon

The view from our San Antonio Women’s Group Hike! 🍂🍁

A few days delayed due to fighting off a virus but here are my results from my 3-day plant-based cleanse that I finished up on Wednesday 😬
I debated sharing these photos since I felt so disappointed in how I felt (heavy, bloated, tired, unfocused) after my trip down to Peru, but I'm happy with my progress! I'm down almost 6 lbs- I’m thinking a lot of it was water weight from travel and eating too much salt on my trip - but as you can see I started off with some belly bloat that has finally gone down.

This cleanse is NOT a permanent solution. This is designed to kick-start healthy habits and to help with getting back on track. Does that mean I won't indulge at all on my next trip over Thanksgiving? No, but after the last 3 days of hard work (mostly mentally) I know I will make better choices to keep things balanced and in moderation moving forward 🍷🌭🥑🧀🥖 This cleanse has also helped me work on my mindset. When it comes to food, I've struggled with emotional eating. Eating when I'm stressed or bored is especially something I am trying to get under control. Getting through moments over the last few days where I wanted to give up (like when the boys ordered pizza and had Chilcanos during the Peru v. NZ game) has helped build strength in my mind and has showed me that my mind is always in control - not my body. Building strength in the mind is just like exercising a muscle - it gets stronger the more you use it, and I know that is something I need to continue to train on a daily basis.
