So yesterday I encountered my first #epic whilst at #fairhead doing some #rockclimbing
I was cleaning the bottom of a route (removing myself from clove hitch and removing sling etc) when another climber proceeded to climb a route next to me rather than wait until I was clear...
Next thing I know I'm knocked off balance and hear and feel a massive bang; slightly dazed I realised that the climber had dislodged some rock and it hit me on the head.. thankfully I was wearing my trusty #halfdome #helmet by @blackdiamond in #plum this piece of pro literally saved my life and caused me to escape a very serious head injury. Trad climbing is such an amazing and fun sport but it is also a very dangerous one. It's important to not get complacent and to be considerate of others! Safe to say the climber was very apologetic however it could have been easily avoided! However I am okay, just some slight whiplash and a minor headache but it will pass. Stay safe guys and have fun! Always wear a helmet! Swipe 👉 to see the rock that hit me; this is actually one part of it as it broke in 3 pieces upon impact of my helmet!!
