Gym Hacks | #1 Working around it: Today I was supposed to do Low Bar Squats for 4 sets of 6 reps (last set being an amrap set) at an RPE6.5. My adductors (inner thigh area) were kinda aching and I didn't want to risk injury, especially because I will squat heavy at the end of this week. So, I figured I would do high bar squats instead, which puts more emphasis on the quads helping me to work around the issue. 90Kg for sets of 6 reps at RPE6-7 (first clip). #2 Weighted pull ups: After my deadlifts with 150Kg for triples, which didn't go as planned because recently deads feel off for some reason, I did some weighted pull ups. I am hoping to build up more overall back and grip strength by doing these. Did them with a 12Kg dumbbell for sets of 5 reps, which makes it an almost 100Kg pull up. #3 Blood flow restriction training: The last clip shows me doing some light curls using blood flow restriction. I wrap my wrist wraps around my arms around the armpit area so that the blood flow is restricted. This creates a different stimulus for your arms, making it seem as if you do more work than you actually do. I like to use this tool because I don't like tiring out my CNS with arm work but still like building up those guns. I had someone ask me for advice on how to build big arms when he heard that I'm a powerlifter, I told him that I don't train arms for the most part.
