What is the most magical place you ve seen this summer? For me it is def Uvac Canyon in Serbia. The most mindblowing part about it is that it is visited by only around 100 people weekly (in high summer season). I think now in the 21st century when the tourism is so popular it is almost impossible! It is mainy because:
a) Serbia is not really popular itself
b) it takes a lot of efford to get there- 5 hour bus from the capital, then boat ride with some local and finally 1 hour hike up the steep mountain
c) people in that area dont know about tourism, they dont have anywhere to stay, dont have a lot of tours running and they dont promote this place!
EXACTLY WHAT I LOVE!
This place is breathtaking, unique and hard to get to but if you decide to be one of few to visit it this is how:
From Belgrade take bus to Nova Varos. There is one hotel in the city, but locals rent out their rooms as well. We didnt book, we asked a lady in the shop, she called her friend and in 30 min we got in out clean bright room just for 7€ pp. Same with the tour, dont try to visit it yourself, you need a local to arrange a boat for you. Our room owner arranged another of her friends to take us there and he literally spend with us whole day for another 7€ pp. I just cannot explain much how you feel when you get to the top, the best feeling for me is to realize that I was one of a lucky few to see it.
