There’s always a lot of talk about how to build the booty. The first answer that comes up, without fail, is SQUATS. And yes, squats are good BUT they don’t specifically target the glutes.

I’ve mentioned before to follow @bretcontreras1 on Insta. He has a PhD, has built his entire career around growing glutes and he has an AMAZING Insta with lots of workouts and lots of science. I love following him.

Anyhow, this is ONE of many, many workouts he shared as an end of workout booty burner.

Banded Hip Thrusts to Banded Elevated Glute Bridges. Here’s the kicker...start with 16 reps of each, move to 15 reps of each, 14 reps of each and all the way down to 1 rep. WITHOUT. STOPPING. 🔥🔥
.
This will SPECIFICALLY target your glutes, the bands help you outer glutes stay engaged and yeah...it’s killer! You see me struggle because I am on the rep of 6 each here and I can no longer feel my ass. 🤣🤣

#thrustthursday I was beyond exhausted this morning from the beginning of this week and I haven't been able to get over the exhaustion hump yet. So this top single was pretty difficult and it shouldn't have been but that is life.
There's one thing I hate is when I am not able to perform like I would want in the gym because I'm exhausted for some dumb reason. These are the moments that I love and that I strive for because they are the ones that will help you figure out who you really are. They say to not train to failure to many times a month, which is correct, but sometimes if you want to get over your mental hump you need to push yourself beyond yourself.
The 2nd video is my 4th set of hip thrusts and I didn't know if I was even going to make it to 8 reps. So right before I sat down to do my set I knew I had to put aside my 4th set of 8 and get myself out of this mental struggle, and if you know me that means trying to go super saiyan.
Never forget why you started and always strive to go to the next level.

Thursday Thrusts! 👊💪 BB staggered hip thrust:
I got this exercise from @bretcontreras1 Bret Contreras. This exercise is mainly a supported unilateral exercise for the glutes. I like using this variation with clients as it allows me to go heavier unilaterally without the risk of compromising technique. I will use his exercise as an accessory to a deadlift, squat or Heavy bilateral hip thrust. I stick with 3-4 sets 6-8 reps on each leg.
