Caption: Three years ago, this August, I was in Edinburgh and I had an awesome time there. Behind me was reputed to be John Knox's historic home.
Many locals say that it was the home where the Protestant reformer John Knox lived during the 16th. century. John Knox was heavily influenced by John Calvin, a French Protestant reformer, in Geneva, Switzerland.
Knox founded the Presbyterian Church (the Church of Scotland) which happens to be my childhood faith, if you haven't found that out by now.
I came over there because I grew up exposed within the Presbyterian faith as a young kid. So I wanted to stop by and remember the man who founded the Presbyterian church.
Now as an adult, I have long thought about coming back after two decades of going to various different churches (denominations). In some ways, I still do identify myself as a Christian (with Calvinist soteriological beliefs). But lately, I have been struggling with many doubts about God's sovereignty, his plans, and even his purpose. I am feeling quite bitter about God, to be quite honest with you.
While I still believe what my faith has taught me, I have been living my life as an agnostic and it's been a difficult time - processing and adjusting.
Recently, I even thought about, just becoming an agnostic or an even atheist.
But regardless though, I will soon find out what my real purpose of life means as I keep on searching.
