I did something that I don’t do very often or at all. I applied two different gels to my hair. I don’t normally do that because I feel as though one gel should be enough. The gels that I use regularly tend to be enough on their own. I feel the same about creams; I can’t really use multiple creams to style. The most I will do is perhaps use a leave-in (mostly to detangle so I just use a little bit) & then add a curl cream, but even that is rare because most curl creams assist me with detangling. If I apply too many products to my hair, my hair will be weighed down & Lord knows I don’t need that considering that I’m dealing with hard water, as well. When I styled my hair for this photo, I wanted to experiment with two particular gels only because they each have a different consistency & I was curious to see how they worked together. I applied @bouncecurl gel first. I sometimes use this gel with a leave-in conditioner, a curl cream, or even alone. (Bounce Curl gel, by the way, is 80% gel & 20% cream). I didn’t want to pair Bounce Curl with a cream when I styled this time. So, I grabbed my UNN (@upnorthnaturals) gelly & I applied some of that focusing mostly on my ends. The UNN gelly has a somewhat thick but light “jelly” consistency (if that makes sense). I haven’t cut my hair since October ’17. I’m in desperate need of a trim & I’ll be getting one in a couple of weeks. Needless to say, my ends have been requiring a little more TLC than usual & I figured that the Up North Naturals gelly would be great for my ends. I combed the products throughout my hair using my @txurepro detangler brush & I then gently scrunched & air-dried. When my hair was about 90% dry, I diffused. The photos honestly don’t do the curls justice. My hair was so curly & bouncy. My roots appeared to have some height & my curls had nice definition. It is definitely a combo that I want to experiment with again. I’ve used each of these products alone & they both work well in my hair (individually & together). I figured that if I’m going to experiment I might as well experiment with products that I already have & products that work for me....
