30 minutes of yoga equals a relaxed, rejuvenated and awesome Me!! 🙌
We are following a hybrid calendar for our #Liift and #Hiit program until the end of September. Wednesdays are still one of our 3 rest and recover days. 😊
I like to use one of the recover days to work on my flexibility and mobility. And some #yoga stretch was just what I needed to start my day with positive energy and mindset. 🧘‍♀️ ➰
This afternoon I have a follow up appointment with the Rheumatologist. Labs and X-rays should all be back by now, so Today is the day I will find out exactly what is going on with my wrists. 😙 As nervous as I am about what the diagnosis could be, I'm kinda excited to finally know exactly what is the cause of the pain and discomfort, so I can move forward and make a plan. As frustrated as I have been at times at having to modify some of the exercises, I know that I'm doing my best in my workouts. I will never give up, no matter what!!! ➰
It's as simple as thinking and focusing on what you want to become. You can do anything you put your mind to.

Probably going to be sore tomorrow. Today’s workout Shoulders/Arms – Circuit. There are 3 blocks of 4 moves each, with a strong core routine to bring us to the finish.
Feeling pretty good this morning considering 2 weeks ago my wrists would not allow me to lift heavier. The only move I needed to modify today was the tricep pushups. So I grab a 20 lb dumbbell and did overhead tricep extensions! 💪🏼That’s progress!! I am capable of success as any other person. 😊 I feel confident in what I CAN DO, and not focused on can’t.
I’m super excited about doing another round of #liift4 with an incredible group of men and women because together we are stronger!! 💪🏼😅💪🏼

A little #motivationmonday for you. Here I am, from the start of @stevierichards 12 Week Resistance Band Training Program (January 8, 2018) until now. 8 months. Down over 40 pounds and 12% body fat. The year prior I had already lost 20 lbs, so this wasn’t even my heaviest. It’s not easy for me to post these photos, because at 59 years old, my body is far from perfect. But I hope this will inspire and motivate some people who may think they can’t do it! In addition to Stevie’s program, I did 30-40 minutes of cardio 6 days a week, and I developed a diet specifically for women over 50. Starting is scary. Starting means putting yourself out there in front of others. It means facing the possibility that you might fail, that you might not hit your goal.
So instead of doing those scary things, it's easier and feels safer, to stay comfortable and not set goals at all or set goals that are easy to obtain. But if that's the course you take you'll never start and you'll miss so many incredible opportunities. Nothing will change. A year from now you'll be exactly where you are today. Please don't shoot the messenger. If you don't like the image of yourself that you see, then change. YOUR LIFE STARTS TO CHANGE THE MOMENT YOU FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE.
So when you think about what you want to accomplish in September, don't think small, don't play it safe, don't stay comfortable, don't shy away from what's hard.
I missed a goal of mine in July however in missing that goal a lot of wonderful progress was made, a lot of wonderful things happened, and a lot of lessons were learned.
Today is the last day of August, while I'm not looking forward to Summer coming to an end, I am excited for September. It's going to be AWESOME!💙 -

Tonight’s recipe: Shrimp Fettucine with Ricotta and Broccoli. With @miraclenoodle shirataki pasta.
Ingredients:
1 pkg @miraclenoodle fettucine
1 clove garlic, sliced
Olive oil cooking spray
1 cup cooked broccoli florets
6 chopped grape tomatoes
1/2 cup ricotta
6-8 shrimp, peeled, deveined, steamed
Salt and pepper
Grated Parmesan
Process:
Rinse and drain noodles and dry-fry in hot skillet. Set aside.
Season ricotta with salt and pepper and set aside.
Spray skillet with olive oil and sauté garlic until soft. Add broccoli and tomatoes and stir for 1 minute.
Add noodles and ricotta, heat until flavors are combined.
Arrange noodle mixture on plate and top with shrimp.
Top with cracked black pepper and Parmesan, and enjoy.

Thank goodness I could lift heavier weights today! 💪🏼💪🏼
Today’s workout is chest/back circuit. I’m not sure whether it’s the meds the doctor put me on or not lifting over the weekend OR a combo of both. But my wrists feel so much better this morning that I was able to not only lift weights but also able to up my weights!! 💪🏼💪🏼 I don’t believe in age.
I believe in energy.
Don’t let age dictate what you can and can not do.
I will not let age define me. I will define my age. 😊

Guilty as charged. The culprit? The creamer I use in my chai and mocha lattes. I was WAY over-pouring. Started measuring, and wow. I was probably adding an extra 200-300 calories a day without realizing it. Lesson learned! Sometimes it’s the simplest, but not the most obvious thing holding you back. .
