#thirsttrapqueen #throwback alert: When I see these photos of my sparkle pony gallivanting adventures in NYC this exact time last year with my #yod crew Colin & Monique, I want to SCREAM when I see how long my hair was 365 days ago, and think about how much longer it could be right now! Leo Rising mane shiz.
But it's okay. The bleached part of my hair is my marker for how fast it grows. I last colored my roots in 2013 when I was pregnant with Eleven, so these locs have lengthened tremendously over the last 3 years.
Today, only one inch of blond tips remain after my shoulder-length haircut last winter. And although I severely miss my length, I also know that by cutting off the old ends, it was a release of stagnant energy from my free-form loc days, my jungle-living adventures in Trinidad, my marriage, and whatever I was carrying from before. And I can see how much my hair grows in a year.
But still. I miss having a big ol' top knot, wild ponytail, or cascading drapes flowing from a headwrap.
But letting go of dead weight is also always an good thing, as hair transmits and hold energy. Obviously it certainly grows back anew.
But I still want to be #longhairdontcare right now. My Leo ♌️ Rising mane vanity is a mess! And being a ♊️☀️, I'ma go back and forth on this ish forever. #beherenow
