Have been having some outer foot pain after my runs lately. Was worried it was a pronation issue...turns out it was a shoe issue. Went out to @gingerbreadmanrunning to get some help and ended up with a super comfy new pair of @asics and some news socks. Facebook just reminded me that 3 years ago, I became a #marathoner. They say if you want to change your day, run a mile. If you want to change your life, run a marathon and mannnnn is there truth in those words. Never have I ever had to be so dedicated to something, never have I ever had to kill so many excuses and overcome so many obstacles. I trained for 5 months with a goal that I just wanted to finish before they removed the finish line at the 6 hour mark. For 5 months I ran 3x a week, two short runs and one long run every Saturday, ranging from 10-19 miles. It didn't take long to learn how much certain foods and my sleep schedule effected my abilities, so I had to eat, drink, and plan my life around this race. When the day finally came, I finished 26.2 miles with 18 minutes to spare. The same girl who grew up obese, the slowest runner in gym class, the girl who quit every single sport, the girls who was "never an athlete" was now a marathoner. Imagine if I'd stopped trying to run because I couldn't catch my breath in the beginning? Imagine if I'd stopped trying because my feet hurt so bad or because I couldn't find proper workout clothes in size 24? Imagine if never ran again after those teenagers Mooed at me like a cow? Imagine id never huffed and puffed through my first 5k? I never would've placed in a 10k and I most definitely never would've ran 26.2 miles. So here's not quitting - because sometimes we can't even fathom what we'd miss out on if we had quit & I am so grateful I got to live this. I've never been a runner or in love with running. But there have been moments that I totally felt freedom in running. This is something I might get back to. Regardless, I appreciate those who do love it.

#latergram yesterday's workout included a morning arm and an workout and stretch with @aaptiv Then I finished the evening on a bike ride along a trail at the park. Rode 12 miles but as the trail was in the cut, the gps cut out and only caught 5 of them. Either way, it was a solid day of activity. Using today, however, to rest and relax after a long and stressful week.
