How do I Train consistently and focus on my body WITHOUT developing body image issues?
Worth a discussion because I know too many woman who have/ do struggle with an unhealthy body image. Eating disorders, obsession over the scale, even anxiety accompany many of the days for woman and men alike who have an un-healing view of their temples. In this industry it’s very easy to become obsessed with “looking perfect” (whatever that means). One major way I avoid this is by constantly acknowledging and thanking my body for helping me heal. When I began (like never before) my fitness journey 3 years ago I knew I wanted to heal. I truly wanted to see my life get better. I wanted healthy relationships, and I was willing to leave any of the unhealthy ones behind. I wanted to be ALL IN to a commitment and see it through to the end... I wanted to feel a win. I’d lost what felt at the time was almost everything and needed to see progression. So focusing on my relationships, my priorities and my body were the prime areas I knew I could take active moves forward in healing... regardless of anyone else’s choices! That empowered me and I dove ALL IN. With the incredible support of my family and my husband @lutherfreeman I saw my choices help me heal forward🙏🏽 So it’s this to me... my process is ongoing and I measure most everything I do with the “Is it creating healing in my life or the life of others?” Test. If the answer is YES, I commit and I go for it. If my thoughts towards it or efforts however begin to make me feel less than or reclusive or draw drama in... I know they are no longer serving their proper purpose and it’s time to re-assess why I’m doing what I do.
If your thoughts towards your body are harmful, if you are treating you in a way that is not helping you heal. If your actions are causing your life more pain... I ask you to put them to the test. With support and clear intention and action even the most harmful habits can be changed🙏🏽❤️
