In May of this year I celebrated two years of a cubicle life. Cubicle were not for me, neither is the 9 to 5. That's just me. In May of 2015, after a strategic exit plan, I left my steady paying job with retirement benefits and health-care, to be a full time yoga teacher. In 2017, this is a not so novel an idea, but whatever, it's what I love to do.
I left my safety net of relative unhappiness in my career which created ripples and changes to my entire life. Some of what followed was planned and some not so planned. Needless to say all of those changes have led me to today. @lehighvalleymarketplace released a new issue of their magazine to somewhere around 80,000 homes. (Maybe some of you will find me in your mailbox tomorrow). If you are a new teacher please keep practicing, studying, and showing up to teach. Please be passionate about what you are offering to the world because people out there need you. The words will come, remembering your rights and lefts can be hard. Don't get upset with yourself if you forget a pose in your sequence. You're human, it happens, be kind to yourself. It's easy to say you're going to follow your dreams and earn a living doing it. The hard part is doing it everyday through all of the bumbs, bruises, scars it leaves behind, and the AMAZING lessons it teaches you about yourself. None of us leave this world alive so why not do exactly what you feel you are called to do. Especially if it empowers and helps others in a positive way.
I am eternally grateful to all those that have given me a chance thus far on my journey. They believed in me and I hope you surround yourself with the people who do the same for you, even if they are part of your journey for the long haul or a short walk on your path. I hope you join me in class, on the water, in a training or a retreat very soon!!!
