Anyone who agrees with the view that slavery was a choice our eslaved Africans made, needs a LOT of education & knowledge. Africans were forcefully & violently removed from their homes & have resisted enslavement from the start to the end. Don't be fooled by the stupid Black history month movies that Hollywood uses to keep you thinking that the African was a docile subject who submitted by natural order to the whip.
Slavery only became possible because of the level of physical & mental violence used to maintain it, as well as a legal & socio-economic order to sustain in. We had countless uprisings and well coordinated resistance, some of which were put down by coalition of planters and countries with military might.
When the enslaver saw that physical violence was not enough, he deployed the ultimate tactic - rape the woman, create a mixed child, provide special previleges to the light skinned slave who is now divided - men were also castrated & buggered in front of women & children; families separated - the level of terrorism is yet to be equalled - then in came Willie Lynch, cultivate fear, mistrust & anger among Africans, rewrite history, take away religion & replace it with Christianity & the list goes on.
Our ancestors never stopped fighting & we wud be FOOLS to think that the fight is over, because even now, the forces of oppression & enslavement are still working among us, including in the views of those who are claiming that slavery was a choice that our ancestors simply embraced. #emancipateyourselvesfrommentalslavery #africaunite #resistanceandrevolt #theycamebeforecolumbus #TheSoundsOfSilence #SlavesWhoAbolishedSlavery
