Before I started homeschooling I bought books. My mom bought books and I remember growing up with shelves and shelves of books of all kinds. So when I started having kids, I did the same. Bought books and occasionally went to the public library as a novelty on a rainy day when I didn't want to spend money with my kids. And then I started homeschooling. From the amazing moms that led me to go and the sheer cost of curriculum, I started to go to the library out of necessity. And my word, what a blessing to homeschoolers! I've discovered the joy of learning along with my kids and the variety of subjects beyond worksheets and workbooks (which I also have and love - but it ain't cheap!). Since putting the house on the market, we haven't been to the library in almost 3 weeks. When I walked in today, it's like coming home. Quiet. Restful. And such a blessing. So we made it this week for our weekly trip to renew and return books at the Chevy Chase library. When I told the librarian that we were moving she said, "We will miss you and your family." How amazing to be known. So glad Damascus library will be close, but I will miss Chevy Chase. So many wonderful memories here over the last 4 years. Tearing up a little over here.
