random: my tae kwon do instructor once told me something simple that changed my perspective on a lot of things....&, he also showed me something simple that changed my mind.
i have really tiny wrists & couldn't break a board to save my life. he told me i couldn't break it because i didn't believe i could. i was focused on how small my wrists are & the pain hitting the board was causing them rather than on how big my mind is.
it wasn't until i mentally "saw" myself breaking the board that i could do it. my vision changed the trajectory of my intention (action). at that moment, i had a breakthrough.
i saved this board as a metaphor and reminder to myself in this life.
he also said something that i thought was a little sacrilegious at the time but now realize his wisdom: he said that every day he proves to himself that he is not God because he makes mistakes.
was thinking of him today, my love for martial arts, and how he probably doesn't even know how much he touched my life. but, there have been so many people like this that i am thankful to have met and will never forget. ❤️ #motivationalmonday #firsttheylaugh #thentheycopy #taekwondo #martialarts
