Adding ALL THE CRUNCHY THINGS to my soups 💥💛🙌🏻 I always roast my chickpeas until they're extra crispy for two reasons: 1) any that are not immediately consumed last a few extra days and 2) when I add them to soup, they soften just ever so slightly giving you that satisfyingly toothsome bite with your spoonful of oh-so-creamy soup. Crispy kale chips are just an added bonus ✨ Other textural soup boosters I love? Toasted seeds or grains like pumpkin seeds, buckwheat groats, quinoa 🔸 fresh, crispy things like radishes, red onion, sliced chilies 🔸 and finally the more obvious things like crackers, croutons or crispy tortillas chips/strips. I made enough Mushroom Dumplings this weekend to take us through the week (at least I thought). My daughter looked these and assumed they would all be for her- guess I’ll never be able make enough. And, yes, we like our dips extra spicy! Filling consists of finely chopped shiitake, napa cabbage, chives, ginger, sesame oil, tamari and a touch (tiny touch) of black vinegar. I did a quick wok of the filling before wrapping. Pan fried the dumplings and finished off with a steam for crispy bottoms and tender noodle! Dipping sauce is seasoned rice vinegar, sesame oil, sambal and tamari. Extra sriracha on the side.

Good morning on my favorite day of the week! I’ve got a big breakfast because I’m extra hungry after a 17 hour fast and lots of exercise. This morning I went to hot yoga, came home and taught a class online, and then went back to @behotyoga for hot Pilates and hot TRX Sometimes when I need to eliminate stress, the best way to do it for me is a lot of exercise. Everything feels more manageable now. The time to exercise feels like an investment for the rest of the day. I’ll have more energy and be more committed and disciplined to accomplish my goals. 🔥Today I’m starting with a two ingredient dough cranberry orange bagel (link in my bio with bagel demo) with light cream cheese, a frizzled egg, and lots of fruit. For weight watchers, that’s four points, and for calorie counters, about 300 calories. I’m going to try to catch up on comments, DMs, And sending out that Baguette recipe.
