BREAKING NEWS:
International Speedway Corporation has announced that Phoenix International Raceway will have a renovation overhaul.
PIR's infield will have a refurbish that has a cost of $178 million due to new enhancements for the fans' experience and a start/finish line replacement.
The project will also include new seating and hospitality regions close to turn two with many new elevators, upgraded/added bathrooms and new concession stands. The whole grandstands will be moved from the old front stretch to the new turn three and four. "When our project is completed, we will have a venue that delivers amazing fan experiences to go along with our reputation for great racing action," said Phoenix Raceway President Bryan R. Sperber earlier today.
DC Solar signed a multi-year contract with the track for this whole makeover and will be the title name of the Xfinity race this Spring.

Account Update:
Wasn't planning to post another "account update" for the rest of this year, although I feel like these late season changes will make my account have a sense of higher quality. There are MORE changes to come for 2017, but these are the few I'm changing for now:
- No more of the white borders for pictures (like the one above)
- Lap times next to the drivers name for practice and qualifying results (all 3 series)
Hopefully all of you like these changes for the homestretch of the season.

#Repost from @thenascartimes:

Chase Briscoe led the first Camping World Truck Series practice of the 2017 season with a lap of 46.63. Rain interfered earlier today which forced the Trucks to only have one practice session for the year opener at Daytona. No drivers had problems, but surprisingly many teams ended their day early half way through the practice.

NEWS:
Late minute -- Regan Smith will continue competing.
The Cup winner has made a deal to race 12 Camping World Truck Series events with Ricky Benton Racing in the No. 92 Ford F-150 starting with the first six races of the year.
Smith has had an interesting racing career to say the least, hopping from team to team in two different series. He first started out at fame in the No. 78 car for Furniture Row Racing in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, winning the Southern 500. Then racing for Tommy Baldwin Racing after finding victory lane 6 times with Jr. Motorsports in the Xfinity Series.
RBR has only competed in the Trucks Series part time and will continue to stay that way. The organization has a best finish of third which came at the season opener at Daytona last year.

NEWS:
Billy Johnson to drive the No. 43 for Richard Petty Motorsports this weekend.
Johnson, 30, will make his first Monster Energy Series start at Sonoma Raceway, the first out of two road courses on NASCAR's Piemier Series schedule.
This past weekend Johnson raced the 24 hours of Le Mans event in France driving the No. 66 Ford GT for Chip Ganassi Racing's Sports Car team. Him and a group of other drivers finished 10th.
Since Aric Almirola has been injured, two drivers who are familiar with the NASCAR circuit have subbed in the No. 43, Regan Smith and Darrell Wallace Jr. Wallace being the latest pilot in the famous car at Michigan and Pocono.
Johnson has raced in NASCAR before, making five career XFINITY Series starts for Roush Fenway, best finish of eighth-place finish at Montreal in 2012.
Darrell Wallace Jr. will return at Daytona and until Almirola is ready to return.
