Done! 6th consecutive #Zevenheuvelenloop!
_______ "What happens when people open their hearts?"
"They get better." - Haruki Murakami
Running is healing. I believe.
I also believe being an active member of a running community is the best way to be the best version of yourself.
People, who share your passion often hold you more accountable, than you yourself personally do. They are also the best source of support because they know the pain behind the gain!
Being a member of the running community means you witness, experience & learn in the process of becoming the good runner you aspire: you get back, what you give; you get help, when you share your goal.
No one is perfect but we all try to be better than who we are yesterday. At least, I believe this of humankind. I need to keep believing.
When I run races, before, during & after, I witness kindness, camaraderie, generosity. Of course I witness the opposite, too. I try to focus more on those positive-energy-giving-vibes experiences.
Sunday was a great day @nnzevenheuvelenloop #7HL!
Thanks to @meeusfitclub.nl
I was able to share with fellow #meeusfitclub friends (many of whom are my also long standing running friends) a wonderful race day in Nijmegen.
Thanks to many solesisters - you know who you all are!!!☺🙌🙏 - the day was memorable!
Special thanks to @runlaugheatpie (lady on the right😊), whom I admire a lot (as a friend & runner), for reminding me once again what strength of character means. I gain courage, every time we talk or when I read her blogs.
A warm heartfelt appreciation & thanks goes to @babettevdwijst (lady on the left☺) for a very healing run, today. My PR (44 precious seconds -thanks to B's pacing, I run sub-6 min/km the last km!) on the course & on the 15K distance overall does not compare to the lessons I learned during the 1:40:15 seconds, together. 🙏🍂💛🍁
I can't put them all now into concise words, so I borrowed the quote from #HakuriMurakami to not forget.☺🙌One thing I can put into words: running makes me want to be a better person & I am grateful to all fellow runners, who help me to keep working towards that humble goal.
