So what is self compassion, really?
Well, it's treating yourself with the same kindness and compassion you would a dear friend in the moment you're really hurting, struggling, feeling shame, or failing.
It has three parts:
1) Acknowledge that you're in a moment of pain, that you're hurting.
2) Choose an attitude of warmth, kindness, and a desire to help yourself in some way.
3) Remind yourself that you're not alone- that this experience is also a shared human experience by us all.
Self-compassion means you're kind and understanding when confronted with your personal failings.
