Went in for an oil change and found out there were two nails lodged in my rear tire. Nice. Anyhow, that's not what this post is about. I was asked by a fellow in the waiting area if I have any big plans for the holiday weekend. Told him I'm excited to celebrate the marriage of two #lesbian friends this Saturday and then there's a protest Monday against the captivity of Orcas. This opened a lengthy discussion which started with the analogy of how mad anyone would go if confined to a space the size of a bathtub verses the wide open sea Orcas need for their own sanity and health ... to how the fellow never liked the idea of elephants in circuses. This surprising music to my ears led me to showing him how baby elephants (a calf) are roped up, beaten, taunted, and deprived of their mother until their spirits are broken. At one point he brought up how sad it is that some people dine on dog meat. I said I felt the same about cows, chickens, pigs, fish, and any other individual people eat.
Once my tire was patched and oil changed, I offered to write down some names of documentaries for the completely open fellow to watch. I snapped a pic of this starter-list to encourage YOU to check 'em out too.
Please let me know how you liked each film as you watch them. Thank you kindly!
