You know how you feel after a long run - confused by a mixture of both love + hate toward what you just endured, but an overwhelming feeling of gratefulness for the experience? Long distance runners - raise your hands! 🏃‍♀️

A long run is kind of like life's journeys. You know you want to accomplish something amazing, get to that beautiful end goal, but you also know that to get there you will go through a lot of tough moments. Negative thoughts will try to creep in, and for a split second, you think it just isn't worth the discomfort. 🏃‍♀️

.
But as you cross through the finish line, reach that goal, and look back you realize the obstacles that seemed so large at the moment aren't anything but a distant memory. But the memory that triumphs the most is how worth the journey was for that finish. How if it didn't challenge you, it wouldn't have changed you.

I only lost 1lb this week! I started insanity max 30 & worked on prepping most of my meals!! But stuffed my face with a slice of pizza yesterday! 🍕 ...............................................................................................I was so bummed this morning thinking I ruined all my weeks worth of hard work. But thinking back to last week.. & it comes to prove dedication, commitment and continuous good choices make a difference! Today I had a decision to make.....
.

I could choose to go out & “play” (aka go to the beach w my fam, on a bike ride, etc)
OR
I could choose to be disciplined & focus in on my biz & taking care of some house stuff (ya know... the never ending pile of laundry & actually filling the fridge w food) 😜
.
While it was tempting to play the day away, the reason why I am even in the place I am, is because I’ve had the discipline to show up consistently. All the time I see women who say they want to enjoy the freedoms I do but then don’t show up for themselves. Then they say, “if only I had your motivation....” but the reality is Motivation is fleeting. Even if you LOVE what you do (like I do) its way easier to choose the easy route of going to bed early or hanging out w your friend instead of working during the time you’ve allotted.
It’s way easier to be swayed by your emotions or only do things when you “feel like it” but Discipline is doing what needs to be done, even when you don’t “feel like” doing it.
But “the more disciplined you become, the easier life gets”. It’s a key ingredient to success. 😉

So today I chose to stay in, get ahead of my week & work to continue to move my biz forward so that I could continue to have the freedom to work when I want, from where I want. It wasn’t too long ago that I was hustling in the gym, early mornings, later night, weekends & so on.... & as easy as it is to forget that, I am grateful for & will work hard for the freedom to choose my schedule & prioritize my family & build our life by our design. 🙌

“Those if you who know me well enough would know that there are two things I seriously dislike; exercise ☠️ and early mornings 😩 Boy, do I avoid them both at all costs. I have tried all types of fitness regimes that I have never been able to get into and this year I have started to wonder if there was ever gonna be a time when I actually enjoy waking up early and doing something to improve my health. So you imagine my surprise when I committed to trying one last thing and absolutely loved it....so much so that I’m waking up at 5am and driving to Claremont to do it 😱⠀⠀
