Hello. I’m Lindsey. I’m a right-handed calligrapher and a left-handed artist. I wrote my first volume of poetry when I was six, I’m currently working on a collection of poems called Bring Your Empty Hands about the space emptiness can embody, the many shapes of soil, and how a bone is a prayer. I am a mother of three young children, they are creators, builders, a gaggle of giggles who wave their imaginations like prayer flags. I have spent lifetimes loving my husband in many different forms. I will love him and search for him in every other lifetime. He is my favorite artist and his unfailing support is a bedrock, a root, a bowl of bone broth, a hearth, a bookcase. I write, paint, calligraph in a round studio behind our home in a sunny meadow in the jagged-skyline of evergreens by the sea in Port Townsend. I am completely at home.
AND (!!!!!!!!!) I am now a faculty member of the Port Townsend School of the Arts. I am going to teach my Write a Beautiful Letter Class there in June, a three week workshop 4th, 11th, and 18th, from 6-9. Link in my profile. Do come write letters with me, and per the feedback from my November class, this one will be delightfully longer! I have some special surprises!
I cut my own hair last week. A new do. A sparse desk with a sharp pencil. A return to the light.
