Smoothie time 👌🏼I put blueberries, yoghurt, almond butter, a little milk, ice, frozen banana and oats into this baby and it is still one of my total favourite combinations 💙 what's your favourite smoothie? I always seem to make the same ones and could use some inspiration! Happy Friday guys! 🍹🍹
Say hello to the newest two editions to my lovely household. Momo san 🍑🐈the curious kitten and My retro #sunbeam#mixmaster 🎂👩🏽🍳. Momo san is a mischievous ball of love who loves to supervise literally every daily task, and this amazing @sunbeamaustralia#mixmaster was gifted to me by two of my dearest friends. It was owned by their late grandmother, I promise to put it to good use! #foodies#kitten#myfoodontv
Oh gosh! I love a warm bowl of oats on a freezing cold morning. Did you know that "Quick Oats" are already partially broken down? The grains are pre-steamed, and whilst this does make them cook much faster, it makes them less of a slow releasing source of energy! Unstabalised Rolled Oats and Steel Cut Oats are less processed. The grains are only squished/chopped which makes them a better slow release of energy as they take longer to break down during digestion. Which is great news for those who need a slow steady supply energy until they eat again, and those with insulin concerns! #oats#quickoats#lowGI#rolledoats#steelcutoats#foodiesdigest
It's amazing how beauty unfolds right before our eyes. Get out of your head for a moment (just like this flower) and take time to observe more around you. It will propagate fresh ideas and stimulate creativity.
I'ts recommended that we eat 2 serves of fruit every day, but what does that look like? One piece of fruit does not always equal one serve. For example, a large banana can be the equivalent of 1.5 -2 serves of fruit! This picture has 2 serves of fruit! Lets break it down; 1 delicious kiwi (1/2 a serve) 6-7 blueberries (1/4 serve) 3-4 strawberries (1/4 serve) 1 passionfruit (1/4 serve) which is equivalent to 1 1/4 serves BUT look out for muesli's with dried fruits! This one has about a handful (dried apricots, sultanas and cranberries) which take the tally up to 2 serves! Fruit is a vibrant little package of condensed nutrients that are vital for good health. Like fibre, vitamins & minerals, and your friends; the antioxidants. Which is why nutritionists and dietitians love them so much! EAT UP GUYS!!! #fruit#gorfor2&5 #nutritonist#dietitian#eatme
Have you ever had a plantain chip? People often confuse plantains with bananas but they are vastly different! They are starchy, not sweet, and are typically used as a vegetable, not a fruit. The plantain is high in fiber and a great Paleo snack.
