Nick Fury Agent of Shield 2 - 1968 Another classic Steranko book. Although Steranko only wrote and illustrated five issues of Nick Fury, it is considered some of his best work. His pysicadelic art style gained huge acclaim and popularity in the 60's and still holds up today.
This book features the second ever appearance of Darkseid and the first silver age appearance of the Guardian. In the early 70's Jack Kirby left Marvel due to unfair treatment and went over to their rival company, D.C. Comics. While there, he worked on New Gods, Jimmy Olsen, Forever People, Omac, Kamandi, and more. These tiles are all referred to as Jack Kirby's Fourth World because each book was interconnected.
This issue features the first Thing crossover and second appearance of the maniacal Nightmare! The Puppet master tricks the Human Torch and Thing into an epic battle throughout Manhattan! Meanwhile, Doctor Strange goes across dimensions to defeat the evil Nightmare! This Book features some of my favorite Doctor Strange art from Steve Ditko. Ditko was known for making some of the most diverse and out-there dimension and alien worlds ever seen in comics. Like Ditko did with Spider-Man, he left Marvel for unknown reasons and has never claimed any royalties from creating characters such as Spider-Man and Doctor Strange from Marvel.
