I came to law almost 20 years ago now and I am still not entirely sure what got me to law school in the first place. I know now it is the people that keep me here- my clients, my colleagues and they many great lawyers I have met along the way. A few years ago I was really questioning whether I could continue my career in law- I was stressed, exhausted and struggling to find joy in my work. It was at that time I started, by chance I think, to look into the science of happiness. I began to read, research and learn as much as I could about just what makes us all happy- particularly us lawyers and as I did, I found I wasn’t the only lawyer struggling with life in the law.
That led to a Podcast ‘Happy Lawyer Happy Life’ and this year a book ‘Happy Lawyer Happy Life- How to be Happy in Law and Life' both of which have enabled me to find better ways to be a lawyer and enjoy my own career in law. Now I spend my days running my law firm @brisbanefamilylawcentre while working with other lawyers through workshops, programs and private coaching on building careers (and lives) that they love.
I currently own and operate the firm Brisbane Family Law Centre which is located in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. I went to law school at the University of Queensland.
