Where to get high, sorry, higher in Riga and see the panoramic views of the city? If you own a drone, you don't need this info. For the rest of us, here's the list that you can save for later.
⛪St.Peter's church in the Old Town. The most expensive way out of all. For 9 EUR (cheaper for students upon showing your student cards and free for kids up to age 7) you get an excursion inside this old building and the possibility to go up to the tower with a 360° viewing platform. Closed on Mondays.
🏢The Academy of Sciences near the Central Market. www.panoramariga.lv. Cheaper but open only from April to November. Prices up to 5 EUR, kids under 12 go for free.
🏣Radison Blu hotel in the centre. Take the elevator to the 26th floor and visit their Skyline Bar. Or just have a ride in the elevator.
To capture the skyline of the Riga Old Town, you'll have to cross the Suspension Bridge (see #eclairs_and_bridges) and get on the other side of the river.
🏢The National Library. You'll have to book an excursion. But the view might be worth it.
🌇"Saules akmens" office building aka Swedbank headquarters. Nice views from the park nearby but to get to the 20-something floor of the building, you'll need to be invited by an employee or to attend a conference there. Good luck!
🗼TV tower (see #riga_tv_tower). Check if it's still open to public before reconstruction.
🏨Riga Islande Hotel. Restaurant upstairs.
🏙Park Inn by Radison Riga. Book a room and wake up with the view of Riga under your feet.
