I’m so behind on reviews, y’all 😫 but I just can’t wait anymore to tell you about this one! The Arrangement was the PERFECT read for my busy month - just enough depth to break your heart, but just enough plot to keep you turning pages like a maniac.
I’ll go ahead & say it: this book is about exactly what you think it is. Two happily married people decide to take their love interests... elsewhere, as an experiment. Reading about that might not be your thing, and that’s fine. But before you trash it, know that Sarah writes about the complexity and heartbreak of their relationships so well. It’s rarely, if ever, explicit, and it doesn’t glorify cheating. If I could sum it up in one word? Honest. I couldn’t put it down because I felt pulled right into the middle of the complexities this couple’s created for themselves. It’s such a sincere look at human emotion, and it was probably my favorite read of the summer so far. If you want to really FEEL what your characters are walking through, this is a can’t miss.
Lucy & Owen have a good marriage. But raising a son with special needs in a small town has taken its toll. And in the midst of upheaval at his school and in their lives, they decide to do something crazy. For six months, they can do whatever they want, with whoever they want. After that? It’s all over, and it’s never spoken about again. It should be simple, right? (Spoiler alert: IT IS NOT.) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for The Arrangement.
