"Maybe the winds of change are too strong to rout the humanity within us."
Last week, Kansas, US, witnessed what anyone can describe as a "Hate crime" where 2 Indian origin people were attacked at a bar by a 51- year old Navy veteran Adam Purington, who claimed that his love for America made him shoot bullets on these two. But then, in name of Pseudo nationalism, would you go after someone who, within a span of 12 years, became as much American as you are? He was heard saying,"Get out of my country." Kuchibothla, a 32 year old engineer was killed at a bar Austin Bar and Grills while his friend Alok Madasani escaped with injuries. But then there was another guy who stood up against this act of shame, Ian Grillot, the guy who took bullets to save these two and tried to subdue the shooter. He says that it was the natural thing he would do. Even though, Kuchibothla couldn't survive and that hurts him the most. He thinks that he is no hero. But for me, he is a hero to 1.25 billion people, for he took a stand, forgetting that he could be killed. Aren't we above that feeling which makes hatred more lovable than love and humanity itself? Don't we deserve peace? Think about it. Maybe, our efforts can bring a change. Maybe, we can save innocent lives. Maybe, we can help in fulfilling someone's dreams because this world needs more people like Ian Grillot who make their existence, worth appreciating.
