Well what a day...To put this in some context: Less than 18 months ago I started in the gym because I was at breaking point about how I felt about myself. I decided that if I didn’t lose weight and get healthy now, it would never happen. Then the strangest thing happened... I discovered I loved powerlifting, and just under 1 year ago I started training solely in powerlifting.
Yesterday I competed in the @idfpa Nationals Full Power competition weighing 50.1kg (a loss of 22kg in 17 months). I came 1st in my weight category lifting 90kg in squat, 45kg bench and 105kg deadlift. This got me a 307.85 wilks score. I got 8/9 lifts. I honestly couldn’t be happier with what I have achieved!
Of course I’ve been helped along the way by my husband @ravenphoto.ie teammates @ashkelly1991 @wleech84 and everyone at @funbodygym and every single person around me who accepted my crazy training schedule and eating plan. So many people messaged me to wish me luck, thank you all!
Thanks to all the spotters, loaders, refs, announcers, organisers involved today and at all the competitions - you make it possible 😉 And as always thanks @kevinbarry92 for shouting at me 😂💪🏻 I’ll be 39 this year, so remember - it’s never too late to start!
