Today's life lessons taught by a 3 1/2 year old:
1. Enjoy the beauty of ALL of His creation.
2. Make the most of what you have.
3. Slow down (so you can practice #1 & #2). Friday's are a pretty big deal: Show-and-Tell at school (and casual Friday at work for mom). I over-slept this morning and in the rush of it all, I forgot all about Show-and-Tell day. And amazingly, Marley forgot too. I realized my mishap half-way through our commute. I felt horrible knowing that my sweet girl wouldn't have anything to share on line today. I fessed up and told her mama forgot - I could hear the sadness in her little voice. Then she told me that we could look for something in the truck. But knowing that I recently took all of her books and little treasures out of the truck, I feared the worst.
As I unbuckled her from her seat, she told me she was going to look in the truck for "something special". Do you know what saved Show-and Tell? Rocks.
My girl collects rocks. Everywhere we go. Rocks. And more rocks. We have rocks in our kitchen, rocks in our living room and rocks in her bedroom. And yes, even rocks in the truck. Every day she adds more rocks. There are always rocks in the truck. So many rocks. Thank you God for rocks! 🙌🏻 "I can show these mama! I'm going to take these two pretty white ones!" She was the happiest and proudest little show-and-teller I've ever seen when she found those BEAUTIFUL rocks.
I know it's my duty to teach her. But man oh man, most days (every day) it seems like I'm the student. God knew what he was doing when he blessed us with our sweet little Marley Rose.💗
