Had the best time with the elephants yesterday at @pataraelephantfarm , so much so that I couldn’t stop laughing long enough for a family photo (This little lady was probably poking me in the back with her trunk). I really was this happy the entire time. 😁
Their “Elephant Owner for a Day” program was so informative and fun, and we were able to have a personal, one-on-one experience with rescued elephants who are well treated. Chloe and I had a perfect experience with our elephant, Poon, who was so full of personality and responded with ear flaps and tail wags every time we told him “Didi” meaning “good boy” (we told him this A LOT 😍). We got to feed him, bath him, take him for a walk, and of course lots of hugs. Oh my heart. I really wished I could take him home. ❤️
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to participate in visiting the elephants after reading reviews about mistreatment but I’m really glad we did. This was definitely my favourite experience in Thailand, I can’t explain how sweet these big creatures were and watching them connect with humans and their trainers, respond to commands, and interact with each other was really something else. A great way to end a great week of travelling with Chloe, mom and Logan. So thankful for the many opportunities for exploration and adventure in our lives. .
