The day at BCYC starts off the bus as our staff greets the kids and walks them up to snack. They have the option to get a snack or go outside or homework club. Then we get into the gym and do our prayer of the day and then go to programs, today is education and social responsibility day. Stay tuned for the programs from our day!!
Coach Vinnie running through some drills at our Dallas summer camp! It's important for the athletes to have each step broken down in a way that they not only understand, but is that way for them to retain and then execute. We have come up with a simple methodology to help kids learn in a fun way🏈
Helmets on Numbers💥❌ this a sure fire way to get a serious neck injury, or concussion. There is a better way to tackle! Just some of the benefits of hitting with your shoulder and not your head‼️ less injuries| more power| less missed tackles| Improved player confidence| less yards given up... But most importantly it's more fun!!
Hit and Drive🚍 Good use of leveraging a driving tackle to knock the QB and get him off his feet. My guess is that the point of can't act was at least 3 yards to the left of this shot, with the tackler being able to shift the momentum of the ball carrier and put him on his backside. This a really effective way to lift morale for your team mates and can shift the momentum of a game. This is why technique is so critical! There are so many benefits that can't be measured on the field but can change the outcome of a game. What are your thoughts??? Comment below👇
Like running into a brick wall💥 you can see the tackler didn't get the chance to get good power through his leg drive, but notice how using the shoulder pad and good positioning of his body makes it look like the ball carrier has been hit by a truck! Wrapping the hands around the legs is just the icing on the cake. Great tackle 👊
RunningBack Hit💥 great shot of @patrick_willis_ how effective you can be once you knock @reggiebush off balance (who just happens to be one of my favourite players out of @usc_athletics 😉. Notice the hand placement behind Reggies hips shows the angle of power. Although Patrick could have gotten a lot more power in this tackle with correct shoulder placement. We have developed a set of drills and exercises specifically to improve a tacklers performance in this kind of situation. Championships are won on defence. And great defensive teams no how to mitigate a running game👊
