🌹Hey everyone! How is life? I hope you guys are remembering to let your imagination soar! I’ve been lacking in my posts since I am in the midst of preparing my novel for publishing and working with my great editors. Exciting isn’t it??!! 🌹
A few days ago. My friend @olivia.j.wordshaker made an interesting story about having a well received first novel and not being able to smoothly complete a draft of the second novel without fearing the worst. Honestly, I believe her book was one of the best YA novels ever, but I firmly believe that it’s impossible for that book to be her best work ever. As artists, our lives are always works in progress. That means, if you write a book, in no way will it match your skill level 10 years in the future. And in the rare instance your first novel is better than your second, it means you have a problem of conceitedness. Since the lack of growth in an individual means your are self centered. Now, Olivia doesn’t have this problem of believing she better than others, she’s just experience the fears of lacking foresight...but there are many other authors like her, that take 1000 followers wayyy too seriously. They produce book after book on createspace believing they are on par with Ransom Riggs, C.S. Lewis or even John Green. In reality, they are just teens with god complexes and it’s very unsettling. So please, don’t fall into the trap of worshiping your work. So please, see Olivia as a good example. She seeks help when she needs it, and fears the future. That my friends is the best way to stay humble and creative. 🌹
