L’Oréal Takes Steps To Becoming More Eco-Friendly
According to a report from WWD, the brand signed a "memorandum of understanding on environmental performance and resource management" with sustainable resource manager #SUEZ, this week. In a nutshell, it’s a pledge to pursue more eco-friendly manufacturing processes.
According to the official statement, the beauty brand has “decided to promote innovative solutions to favour sustainable production” and to work with SUEZ to “tackle #climatechange, protect oceans and water resources, and preserve natural resources and biodiversity.” That means L’Oréal will start improving #recycling practices and using more #renewableenergy to reduce its #environmentalfootprint — all totally admirable goals.
This is a major eco-friendly step, but it still doesn’t make L’Oréal ( #Loreal )a full-fledged eco-beauty brand. Regardless of its manufacturing processes, some of the #cosmetics still contain i ingredients such as #parabens, which can be harmful. To keep the eco-beauty momentum rolling, they could take a page from Target’s book, who earlier this year pledged to revamp its personal care lines from process to end product. But for now, you can feel good that your favorite affordable mascara is showing more love to the planet. - Teen Vogue #TeenVogue #TeenVogueMagazine
